Madame Poulard's Omelette
DOES the Contributor who gave such a delightful account of the inn at Mont Saint-Michel, in the April Atlantic, know the quatrain which Madame Poulard once inspired ? An American who had been sitting in the little cafè opposite the entrance to the Poulard Ainè saw a large company of Englishmen in knickerbockers coming up the narrow street and going into the inn; he promptly crossed over and wrote these lines in the guest book: —
Joan of Arc, at point of lance,
