Pan and the Plumber

PAN and the Plumber, in a way,
Are similar in type:
For while Pan gayly pipes a lay
The Plumber lays a pipe.
With dancing feet, Pan, so we learn,
Scampers across the map,
And as he lightly taps a turn
The Plumber turns a tap.
And while the poets sing of Pan
And bid us give him pathroom,
The Plumber makes, for us to scan,
A poem of a bathroom.
