BAGPIPES, balloons, and bubbles, I have blown ‘em all,
I have watched them rise and I have watched them fall,
I have heard the mermaids calling, each to each
I have eaten a peach.

Campbells, Colquhouns, and Comyns, I have known ‘em all,
I have known the short ones and I have known the tall,
1 have seen my second cousin sit in the gorse,
I have ridden a horse.

Sonnets, lampoons, and ballads, I have wrote ‘em all,
I have dipped my pen in alternate honey and gall,
I have drunk a great deal of indescribable wine,
I have been down a mine.

Collage, cartoons, and crayons, I have done ‘em all,
I have drawn on the flagstones and on the kitchen wall,
I have washed my midnight head in the forest pool,
I have played the fool.

Salons, saloons, and sawdust, I have paced ‘em all,
I have wielded the little stick and chased the ball,
I have eaten a million rounds of buttered toast,
I have seen a ghost.

Gibbons, baboons, and lemurs, I have loved ‘em all,
I have watched the eagles fly and the lizards crawl,
I have seen the giants sleep and the Muses snore,
Need I say more?
