This Just In: Pentagon to End Program to Train Syrian Rebels

The New York Times is reporting that the Obama administration has ended the Pentagon’s $500 million program to train and equip Syrian rebels. The newspaper said a formal announcement is expected today.
The original plan was to train some 5,000 moderate rebels this year, but last month the administration acknowledged that only “four of five” U.S.-trained rebels were still in the fight in Syria.
