In the end, it wasn't even that close. With the Romney campaign conceding Florida, the final state that was undecided, Barack Obama captured a total of 332 electoral votes to win reelection, while Mitt Romney won 206 (official results are still pending). The president also leads the popular vote 50 to 48 percent.
Obama performed very well in swing states. He lost only Indiana and North Carolina from his huge 2008 victory, in which he took 365 electoral votes.
