In a recent Allstate-National Journal poll, we asked a random sample of 900 Americans for their outlook on their careers. What we found was a chasm between the expectations and experiences of younger Americans and those of the generation that came before them. But while they both agree that it’s tougher starting a career today, we discovered stark differences in their perspectives on what the priorities of a career should be, what retirement looks like, and how to go about getting there.
