From a story by Peter Wehner

In the Bible, what Israelite king and psalmist says that, with God’s help, he beat his enemies “fine as dust before the wind”?

He also played the harp.

And by the way, did you know that although previous divisions existed, the Bible was not broken into chapters until the 1200s—and not into the verses we use today until the 15th and 16th centuries?

The New Testament’s modern versification is entirely the work of Robert Estienne, a Parisian printer, in the 1550s. Blame him, if you must, for the bulkiness of the 70-odd words of Revelation 20:4, but thank him, too, for the punch packed in John 11:35: “Jesus wept.”

Until tomorrow!
