Is "Word Fugitive" an obvious candidate, or did someone have that in mind all along?

A sesquipedalian verbivore could probably come up with several words which come close to what you seek; e.g., logophile or logomaniac. I personally would like to see "bloviator" come into vogue.

From the Toronto Serial Diners Collective:
They are, of course, called Serial Diners.

Jason,
In recognition of the invaluable service to this conference performed by your Toronto Serial Diners Collective (whether or not it exists), as evidenced by the numerous posts you have made on its behalf, I hereby name the Collective, collectively, the first Word Fugitives Bureau of Investigation Special Agent of the Week.
Not only are you to be honored; you are to be rewarded. A member of the Atlantic Unbound staff will soon be in touch, to ask you to choose your prize from among the, um, generous array of choices that will be offered you. (Don't worry -- they're free!) I hope the Toronto Serial Diners Collective will accept my best wishes and the best wishes of Atlantic Unbound.
Hearty congratulations! Well done! Huzzah!

On behalf of the Toronto Serial Diners Collective (which exists, darn it):
Wow! Cool! Neat-o! What a blast!
Oh. Sorry, we were a little taken by surprise. We'll try to recapture our pompous verbosity.
Ahem. It is with the deepest humility and most heartfelt appreciation that we, the Toronto Serial Diners Collective, accept this, the finest award that a Word Fugitives Investigative Collective can, to our knowledge, receive, unless the Nobel Committee's gone loopy this year. We feel honoured to be the first person or persons to have this distinguished title bestowed upon us, and, for the week that we own it, we shall wear the collective mantle with pride, with nobility, and with an unceasing attempt to parlay the achievement into a bid for global domination.
(So can we, like, ever win again, or should we just stop posting right now?)

Jason: The official rulebook specifies that he or she who wins three times in a row is retired from competition. But until such time ... yes, you can win again.
Michael: Points are awarded for good sportsmanship (ahem!), among many other categories.

I'll bear that in mind, Michael.
Now, will you please tell us about this "verbiphage." Word-eating??? Might that be the reason for the tongue in your latest emoticon?

Let's see... whereas a verbivore is a devourer of words, a verbiphage is someone
who ingests words on a more steady, regular
basis. At least that's my theory; I don' know anyone to whom I could apply either discription. As to the emoticon, I assure you that that was just a happy coincidence!
HTH.
