Yeah, I know. James Cagney always brought his broads to a classy joint.... The problem comes up when I want to exchange 'joint' for 'restaurant': I still get the James Cagney image. You could go anywhere with this one- luxurious, fancy, elegant, stylish, upmarket, and posh, for example. It would depend on what you're talking about, I think. only works as predicate nominative, not as attributive adjective
