Thousands Gather for the Centuries-Old Appleby Horse Fair

For hundreds of years, members of the travelers community in the United Kingdom have gathered by the thousands in Appleby-in-Westmorland, in Northern England, to sell and trade horses and celebrate as a community. During the loosely organized event, horses are washed, displayed and run for buyers to see, while others gather in a temporary market and small fair set up in nearby fields.
