Worldwide Vigils and Memorials for Orlando Victims

On Sunday, a gunman who allegedly had pledged himself to ISIS entered a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, and carried out the most deadly shooting in American history. 49 people were killed, dozens more injured, with at least five still listed in ‘grave condition.’  Memorials and candlelight vigils took place in parks and plazas around the world, with citizens and government officials voicing support for the victims and their families, as monuments were lit in rainbow colors, and flags lowered to half-staff.
