Dr. Barbara A. Perry is the J. Wilson Newman professor and a co-chair of the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center. Her forthcoming book is Reconcilable Differences: The Unlikely Political Alliance of John F. Kennedy and Eleanor Roosevelt.
