George Chauncey

George Chauncey is a professor of history at Columbia University and the author of Gay New York: Gender, Urban Culture, and the Making of the Gay Male World, 1890-1940 (updated edition, 2019).  He is finishing a book on gay male life in the segregated neighborhoods of postwar New York.
