Michael McFaul

Michael McFaul is a professor of political science at Stanford University, the director and a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, and the Peter and Helen Bing senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. He served as special assistant to the president and senior director for Russian and Eurasian affairs at the National Security Council from 2009 to 2012 and as U.S. ambassador to Russia from 2012 to 2014. He is the author of Autocrats vs, Democrats: China, Russia, and the New World Order.
